OREANDA-NEWS  The Government of Kazakhstan has not restricted the activity of banks on transactions in rubles, Deputy Prime Minister of Finance of the Republic Yerulan Zhamaubayev said.

"In general, there is such a thing as KYC - know your customer. If the banking sector filters certain points related to selection issues and other risks, this is directly the work of the banks themselves. There were no installations on the part of the government," Zhamaubayev told reporters on Thursday.

According to the Vedomosti newspaper, Russian entrepreneurs are faced with the problem of accepting rubles from Kazakh banks. The publication reported that Kazakh banks cancel transactions amid fears of sanctions.
