OREANDA-NEWS  The governments of the Sultanate of Oman and Russia signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation on income and the prevention of tax evasion in Muscat on Thursday to expand investment cooperation between the two countries, the Omani state news agency ONA reported.

As the agency noted, "the agreement is aimed at the legal protection of investors from double taxation and the regulation of taxation between the two friendly countries, which will contribute to the expansion of investment and trade exchange between them." "The agreement takes into account the specifics of bilateral economic cooperation and the level of economic development of the two countries.

At the same time, it meets the President's goal of preventing the withdrawal of capital from the country and reflects the recommendations of the BEPS plan," the materials on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Russia say. On the Russian side, the document was signed by State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Finance Alexey Sazanov, on the part of Oman - the head of the tax service Saud Bin Nasser Al Shukaili.
