OREANDA-NEWS. April 9, 2009. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will visit Russia on April 9 to 11 at the invitation of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki will visit Russia on April 9 to 11 at the invitation of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The visit's agenda will include talks with Russian leaders, as well as a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on April 10.

The sides plan to discuss the development of bilateral trade and economic relations, in particular, the return of Russian companies to Iraq and their cooperation with Iraqi partners in oil and gas, power generation, construction and other sectors.

Other issues of mutual interest include the situation in Iraq, the possibility of promoting bilateral relations in different spheres, and interaction on international and regional issues, primarily with regard to the situation in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East peace process.
