OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2010. Russian-Montenegrin consultations involving Nebojsa Kaludjerovic, Montenegro’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and Vladimir Voronkov, director of the Russian MFA’s Department of European Cooperation, with a view to reviewing mutual engagement in pan-European organizations, were held at the Russian MFA on June 29.

A working luncheon on behalf of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko took place.

The consultations accentuated the importance of further developing European dialogue on topical cooperation issues. There was discussion on the creation of a new Euro-Atlantic security architecture, with special focus on Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s initiative for a European Security Treaty.

The parties noted the similarity of their countries’ positions on key OSCE and Council of Europe activities and the United Nations agenda.

They exchanged views on the current state of affairs with respect to the European agenda, including topical issues in the relations of the two countries with the EU and NATO.
