OREANDA-NEWS. September 27, 2010. Dmitry Medvedev submitted a draft federal constitutional law to the State Duma, amending the Federal Constitutional Law On the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.

The draft law is aimed at optimising procedures involving constitutional proceedings in order to improve their efficacy.

In particular, the draft constitutional law envisages the possibility to review a certain type of cases at a Constitutional Court session without holding hearings.

The draft law also clarifies certain other provisions in the law On the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation, particularly concerning the scope of authority of Constitutional Court justices.
