OREANDA-NEWS. October 11, 2010. A regular round of Russian-Japanese consultations at the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs (from the Russia side Alexei Borodavkin, and from the Japanese – Koro Bessho) took place in Moscow on October 8.

During the consultations an overall positive assessment of Russian-Japanese relations was expressed. The parties especially highlighted the vigorous political dialogue, primarily at the highest level, the high positive dynamics of cooperation in trade, economic and practical areas, and the expansion of cultural and humanitarian ties. Both sides confirmed their intention to continue dialogue with a view to finding a mutually acceptable solution to the problem of a peace treaty.

A constructive discussion took place on security and cooperation issues in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as on some topical international issues of mutual concern.
