OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2011. EurAsEC Interstate Council meeting was held at the Kremlin, addressing the issues of further improving the organisation’s work.

Following the meeting, a package of documents was signed, in particular, concerning the creation of the Customs Union within the framework of the EurAsEC, the Common Economic Space for Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, and the operation of the new EurAsEC Court.

Meeting participants included President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan (Armenia is a EurAsEC observer), and EurAsEC Secretary General Tair Mansurov.

After the meeting, Dmitry Medvedev answered journalists’ questions.
