OREANDA-NEWS. December 25, 2012. Ukraine and Russia may hold in the coming months Interparliamentary Commission on cooperation in high-tech industries in Dnepropetrovsk.

This was started by chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Leonid Slutsky during a meeting in Kyiv on Tuesday with Prime Minister Mykola Azarov.

"We’ve agreed with the previous leadership of Verkhovna Rada to hold in the coming months in Dnepropetrovsk Interparliamentary Commission, similar to the one we had a few months ago in Voronezh. During the session of the Commission, we would like to stress on the development of cooperation in high-tech industries, in particular cooperation in the space industry and aircraft industry", said Leonid Slutsky.

He expressed the hope that this initiative will be supported by deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation.

In turn, Mykola Azarov welcomed the expansion of cooperation in high-tech industries and noted that Ukraine is disposed towards constructive cooperation with Russia. "We have worked and will work to strengthen our relations with Russia. It - definitely our policy: policy of the President and the Prime Minister, the Head of the Verkhovna Rada", said the head of the Ukrainian Government.

In addition, he suggested the Russian side to consider the possibility of holding of Ukrainian-Russian Committee for trade and economic cooperation in the first quarter of 2013.
