OREANDA-NEWS. Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko took part in a meeting of the Russia-Belarus Union State Supreme State Council.

The meeting's agenda included various aspects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, plans for increasing trade, opportunities for developing investment ties, and implementing joint programmes in high-tech sectors, telecommunications, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and humanitarian areas.

The meeting also discussed coordinating the two countries’ foreign policy approaches and bilateral cooperation on security issues.

Following the Supreme State Council meeting, the two presidents signed a package of  documents.

Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko also made press statements.

Before the Supreme State Council meeting, Mr Putin had a one-on-one meeting with Mr Lukashenko.
