OREANDA-NEWS. Prior issues of national economy development were discussed last week at representatives of European Business Association and Minister of Finance of Ukrainian Yuriy Kolobov meeting.

Speaking of government support of agricultural sector Minister of Finance said that in 2012, revenue from exports of agricultural products exceeded income from industrial export. Cabinet of Ministers of Ukrainian plans to increase agricultural sector`s growth rate at least twice and reach in whole 100 million tones grain export. This initiative was unanimously supported by business community.

With regard to promoting banking sector, Yuriy Kolobov expressed solidarity with bankers position on the need to support financial sector in terms of increased asset protection and investment, promotion and increase the share of non-cash payments.

In this aspect, Minister of Finance stressed the readiness to review and make necessary changes to legislation proposed by business.

During the meeting parties also exchanged views on increasing efficiency of "gray" import fight. Thus, in the opinion of the Association members, 90% of production in laptops category is imported into the country illegally, without complying with customs requirements and procedures. Participants agreed that the best solution is to improve Tax Code regarding restrictions of imports for the subjects of simplified tax.

Minister of Finance Yuriy Kolobov said that all sensible business community offers, in particular the old excise stamps circulation, must be taken into account. He also confirmed feasibility of improving state regulation for excisable products.

At the same time, participants stopped at the prospects of further cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. Minister of Finance said: "Negotiations with the IMF are in progress, we are maintaining dialogue in order to sign future cooperation program."

Summarizing Yuriy Kolobov assured participants that in the future any developing innovations in financial and tax policy will be discussed with business to take into account proposals of entrepreneurs.
