OREANDA-NEWS. Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The conversation was Turkey’s initiative.

Mr Putin and Mr Erdogan discussed current international issues, in particular the Syrian conflict and the situation in Egypt. They emphasised the importance of coordinated action by the international community to prevent an escalation of the crisis in the Middle East.

The two leaders agreed to hold the next meeting of the Russian-Turkish High-Level Cooperation Council in Moscow this autumn, and continue their contacts at the upcoming G20 Summit in St Petersburg.
