OREANDA-NEWS. According to the operative data of the Ministry of Coal Industry, in January-October 2006, the coal-mining enterprises of Ukraine have increased coal mining by 1,95 % - up to 65 million 644,9 thousand tons in comparison with analogous period of 2005. According to UNIAN, at the same time the daily average coal mining has grown by 1,96 % - up to 213 thousand tons from the beginning of this year.

Extraction of coked coal in January-October 2006 reduced by 6,7 % to 25 million 318,8 thousand tons in comparison with January-October 2005, power coal increased by 8,3 % - up to 40 million 326,1 thousand tons.

At the same time, in October of this year the coal-mining enterprises have raised coal mining by 1,5 % - up to 6 million 471,7 tons in comparison with October 2005. At the same time, extraction of coked coal in October decreased by 7,1 % to 2 million 423,9 thousand tons, power coal - increased by 7,4 % up to 4 million 47,8 thousand tons.

For ten months of this year, the state coal-mining enterprises have increased coal mining by 1,08 % - up to UAH 38 million 817,4 thousand (coked - by 19,7 %, up to 9,65 million tons; power - by 10,5 %, up to 29 million 167 thousand tons) in comparison with the same period of the last year.

On the beginning of July 2005, 164 mines (from them 93 % - state property) and 3 cuts have been functioning in the coal industry of Ukraine.

The coal mining in Ukraine in 2005 reduced by 2,8 % or by 2 million 230,6 thousand tons to 77 million 921,4 thousand tons in comparison with 2004. Extraction of power coal increased by 5,4 % - up to 45 million 241,1 thousand tons, whereas coked coal reduced by 12,3 % to 32 million 680,3 thousand tons.

In 2006 Ukraine plans to extract 80,6-81 million tons of coal.
