OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC “Power Machines” commissioned a new 300 MW power unit for “Uong Bi” TPP. Therefore Power Machines have fulfillled obligations under the contract covering design, manufacture, supply, supervision, commissioning of the full equipment set of machinery and boiler halls for a new “Uong Bi” TPP power unit with capacity of 300 MW on a “turn-key” basis.
 
As it was reported, the main equipment delivered for "Uong Bi” TPP includes a 300 MW steam turbine and a 320 MW own manufactured turbogenerator, as well as equipment of other  manufacturers – steam boiler (920 tons of steam per hour) by Taganrogskiy boiler plant “Red boilermaker” and auxiliary equipment for TPP.

A contract for supply of the main power generation equipment for “Uong Bi” TPP power unit was signed between Power Machines and the Vietnam State Assembling Corporation “LILAMA” in June 2003. The project was initiated by the State-owned power utility “Electricity of Vietnam” (EVN).

The launch of a new “Uong Bi” TPP power unit is an important activity stage of Power Machines on the power generation market of Vietnam. Successful operation of the power unit will allow the company participate in further development program of the country’s energy system covering construction of new power units of steam and hydro power plants. 

“Uong Bi” TPP is located in the north part of Vietnam at a distance of about 120 km to the south from the capital of Vietnam – Hanoi. The first part of the power plant was constructed in 1960s with technical support of the former USSR.
