OREANDA-NEWS. The second hull of containership for the Dutch company Rensen Shipbuilding BV. was laid down at Lotos Shipyard, MNP Group. The contract for construction of two hulls of containerships weight 1,450 mt was signed by MNP Group and Rensen Shipbuilding in March, 2006. Under the contract the two hulls should be built by June, 2007.

According to the press service of MNP Group, dry-cargo containership is intended for transportation of international standard containers, as well as bulk cargoes and grain. The length of the vessel is 135 m, breadth – 17,1 m, depth – 6 m, draught – 3,5 m.

Up to date these are the largest vessels of this class built of the Dutch companies. The containerships will be operated in the inland waterways of Europe. The vessels are built under supervision of Bureau Veritas.
