OREANDA-NEWS. OMZ-SpecStal (St.-Petersburg), a part of OMZ (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY), has received an Approval Certificate from one of the leading international classification organizations, the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), for the production of carbon, carbon-manganiferous and low-alloyed steel forgings and castings. The certification for forgings specifies a maximum weight of 80 tons, and for the production of castings a maximum weight of 70 tons.

According to the press service of OMZ, OMZ-SpecStal has also received a Recognition Diploma from the Russian River Register (RRR) as an enterprise specializing in manufacturing carbon-, alloy- and stainless steel castings and forgings for the shipping industry, and ship propellers in particular.

OMZ-SpecStal division is Russia’s largest producer of semi-finished metallurgical products for machine building and other sectors. The division specializes in the production and supply of forgings, casting products, hot rolled sheet products and plates made of different types of steel produced by OMZ.
