OREANDA-NEWS Certification static tests of the SSJ New (SJ-100) aircraft will most likely be completed in the first half of 2025. Dmitry Smirnov, Deputy Director for Science of the Siberian Scientific Research Institute of Aviation named after S.A. Chaplygin (SibNIA), told TASS about this in a comment.

According to him, preparatory work is currently underway to test the engine pylon. Also, the fuselage, wing, mechanization, attachment points of the main and front landing gear, horizontal tail will be tested for strength.

To date, 30-40 percent of statistical tests have been successfully completed. The fuselage and detachable parts of the airframe wing were delivered to SIBNIA in January last year. At the same time, it was assumed that the delivery of the liner to the airline would begin in the same year, but then the deadlines were repeatedly postponed.

The SSJ New is an import-substituted version of the SSJ-100 (Sukhoi Suprjet 100) airliner, which must be fitted with domestically produced engines and replaced with other foreign components.
