OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2009. The exhibition organized by the Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan at the Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat closed. The specialized forum demonstrated the high potential of the private sector and active development of entrepreneurial initiatives as a result of the national policy aimed at encouraging and supporting private business.

The exhibition organized with the assistance of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan covered the whole spectrum of goods and services rendered by Turkmen businessmen to the population. Today, the long list of the fields of entrepreneurial activity includes processing industries, construction business and other very promising sectors.

The exposition proved the topicality and effectiveness of the President’s conception of the support to the private sector, which had promoted the boom in entrepreneurial activity and the increase of the private sector share in GDP. The first large-scale projects started to bring profit. A vivid example – Gus Toplumy sole proprietorship specialized in poultry breeding. The enterprises presented dozens of its products including delicates at the exhibition.

The exhibition showed that the qualitative as well as quantitative performances of the private sector were improved during the past year. The large-scale enterprises and workshops were supplied with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies that allowed producing high-quality products and broadening the range of goods. The processing industries including sewing and textile industries are quite significant in this regard.

Along with demonstrating the achievements, potential and perspectives of development of entrepreneurial activity in the country the specialized exhibition became a splendid opportunity for businessmen to exchange experiences and establish fruitful business contacts. Undoubtedly, the results of the forum will be applied in new projects, new products and new services rendered by small and medium business. Thus, everyone wins – both customers and producers.

The participants of the specialized forum received the diplomas and certificates.
