OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2009. The ceremony of closing the Healthcare System Achievements in Turkmenistan in the Epoch of Great Revival international exhibition and conference was held at the Exhibition Centre in Ashgabat.

The forum organized by the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan brought together the representatives from 140 companies – the pharmaceutical product and medical equipment manufacturers and healthcare professionals from 30 countries all over the world.

Speaking at the plenary meeting the foreign guests highly appreciated the high level of organization and significance of the agenda issues of the forum. The forum participants expressed profound gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Turkmen colleagues for profound contribution to long-term partnership in medical science and practice that nowadays had been offered a powerful incentive to develop. That was proved by the festivities arranged for the first time throughout the country to mark the 14th anniversary of the adoption of the Health State Programme and Day of Healthcare and Medical Industry Workers this year.

It was noted that the parade of building premieres – the healthcare institutions put into operation in Ashgabat and Ahal Velayat added solemnity to the festivities. The forum participants were deeply impressed with the recent sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the keynote speech of the Turkmen leader. Having specified health protection as a priority of the national policy Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the significant importance of wide international co-operation.

The exposition vividly testifies to the successful development of international cooperation. The guests and participants showed intense interest in the exposition presenting healthcare in Turkmenistan, the achievements of the national healthcare system, which were a result of the President’s concern for people’s health and wellbeing. The expositions and stands of the companies – the world’s leading manufacturers of medical products were of particular interest to the visitors. Their participation in the prestige forum in Ashgabat vividly illustrated interest steadily increasing worldwide in cooperation with Turkmenistan that had earned the reputation a reliable business partner during the years of independence.

Within the framework of the forum the participants learnt about the present day and future of the healthcare system of Turkmenistan and held a number the meetings to lay the foundation for new joint mutually beneficial projects. The foreign guests expressed interest in scientific research and innovations developed by Turkmen medical scientists, most of which had been applied in practice. The guests called for enhancing cooperation and intensifying contacts through conducting conferences as well as exchanging experiences.

Expressing sincere admiration with the large-scale changes taking place in the Turkmen land the conference participants expressed belief that Turkmenistan had great future ahead it because the state abiding by the principle “a state for the people” would prosper.

Summing up the international forum the organizers presented the diplomas to the participants and announced the winners in three nominations – the best stand, production competitiveness and introduction of advanced technologies.
