EBC Among the Three Best Avtovaz Suppliers
OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2007. During the annual JSC Avtovaz supplier conference EBC Trade House received the best supplier award among the three best suppliers of Avtovaz. Such acknowledgment allows EBC to reinforce its position among the plant's top suppliers with whom the automotive plant has plans to establish long-term strategic partnership, reported the press-centre of EBC.
The annual Avtovaz supplier conference was held 5-6 April, 2007. Product quality, supplies stability, supplier quality standards, ability to develop advanced products for the automotive industry, - all these were among the criteria considered by the automotive group management during the evaluation of the 2006 supplier relationship results. It is the forth consecutive time that EBC Trade House is nominated among the best suppliers of the automaker. Before this nomination European Bearing Corporation received Avtovaz diplomas on many occasions. This year 31 supplier was awarded and EBC was the only bearings supplier to be acknowledged.
This high level appreciation of EBC work highlights new prospects of EBC cooperation with Avtovaz. According to EBC Trade House Director-General Sergei Orlenko the automotive plant in order to optimize its costs, increase quality and improve supplier network considers elimination in near future of component receipt inspection. To do so, the best suppliers of the plant will be selected among the currently available 700, with whom the plant will sign long-term (over two year-long) contracts.
Today, Avtovaz together with Magna International Inc. develop a unified platform C-class vehicle чбъ 2116. A production and world class component supplies system is being developed under this program to replenish an assembly of a 415 thousand vehicle per year capacity. 'Currently we see all the necessary prerequisites for that EBC participates in this project since the corporation was not only able to prove its substantiality in the Russian components market, but has also won new positions in the foreign markets. The official DaimlerChrysler supplier status gives the opportunity to the corporation to participate in other foreign and joint projects' - explained Sergei Orlenko.
Besides, advanced product development activities present EBC large-scale opportunities within the Russian machine-building industry. According to President and the Government of the Russian Federation, to develop the domestic machine-building a system of subsidy assistance for developers is to be deployed and this system will provide for easy terms crediting of industrial developers.
