OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2007. The commissioning of the 5-coordinate four-spindle milling center with numeric control device NX-154 StarragHeckert AG (Switzerland) was completed today at the Turbine Blades Plant (ZTL), the branch of PJSC “Power Machines.” The center is designed for the precision processing of the blades profiles of up to 700 mm long. This is the first project which has been completed under the Power Machines’ investment program which was approved by the Board of Directors of the company in March 2007.

By 2010 PJSC “Power Machines” is planning to achieve the annual production level of 17 GW (which is currently 8.8 GW). The implementation of the task requires reconstruction of the production facilities and renewal of the production equipment, for which purpose the company has started its 5-year complex investment program. The program is estimated in 1 billion US dollars and is aimed at PJSC “Power Machines” becoming a modern industrial enterprise with the renovated and suitably located production facilities, decreasing the production costs and making the company prepared to meet the demands of the Russian power generating sector in 2007 – 2015.

In 2007 the Power Machines’ investment program provides for the funding in the amount of approximately 145 million US dollars. Starting the 3rd quarter of 2007 the branches of the company are planning the modernization or purchase of at least 45 items of machines and technological equipment. The company will increase the volume of its scientific, research and design work, which will be focused on the following areas: design of turbines and generators for the federal purposed program in the nuclear power sector, implementation of the RAO “UES of Russia” program for development of the Russian power sector, design of equipment for supercritical steam conditions as well as equipment for hydroelectric pumped storage power plants.
