OREANDA-NEWS. August 3, 2007. IES-EnergoStroyEngineering (IES-ESE, part of IES-Holding) has completed a project for providing external power supply for the Hauzak sector of the Dengizkul gas deposit in Uzbekistan which is developed by Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company, a subsidiary of Lukoil Overseas. The facility has passed an inspection of a working commission which included representatives of Lukoil, IES-ESE, operating organisations and local government and is ready to start operating.

Dengizkul is part of the Kandym-Hauzak-Shady-Kungrad mega project which is implemented by Lukoil and the national holding company Uzbekneftegaz under a production sharing agreement signed in 2004.

IES-ESE has supplied and assembled power equipment, carried out operations to start up and commission the 110/10 kV Hauzak electricity substation, and performed reconstruction, start-up and commissioning of the 110 kV outdoor switchgear of the 220/110 kV Kokdumalak substation and 110 kV high-voltage power lines from the Kokdumalak substation. The project was difficult to implement because of complex climatic conditions, the company was building the substation in desert conditions with highly corrosive soil and the expected site seismic activity of eight points.

The project worth in excess of $9.5 million was launched in January this year. Ensuring external power supply for the Hauzak field sector will make it possible to enhance the potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the oil and gas sector, according to IES-ESE General Director Sergei Suvorov.
