OREANDA-NEWS. The share of import substituting products should increase in Belarus, First Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Semashko declared during a visit to scientific and production association Center, reported the Official website http://www.government.by.

Today Center presented a new automated plasma cutting unit. According to Vladimir Semashko, the idea to set up a plasma cutting complex emerged two years ago when Belarusian scientists developed a plasmatron for such a unit.

According to Vladimir Semashko, the Government has set up a special commission which considers requests for import of equipment to Belarus. “When we see that requests for some equipment are systematically repeating we set a task to develop and launch production of such equipment domestically,” the First Vice Premier said. Such principle was applied to the plasma cutting unit.

“The unit shows that the country has been applying results of scientific research in practice. Today we have seen a properly working complex. This proves that Belarusian manufacturers started adapting to the market,” Vladimir Semashko said.

Belarus should make such equipment which is in high demand in the domestic market. Besides, such products are in always in demand in the international market as well, the First Vice Premier stressed.
