OREANDA-NEWS. August 17, 2007. Acting Director General of Rosenergoatom Concern Alexander Lokshin and Deputy Director General-Director for Personnel Management of the Concern Jumberi Tkebuchava visited Novovoronezh NPP on Aug 15–16.

They took part in a meeting of the operational headquarters for the construction of Novovoronezh NPP-2. They heard reports by the director of Atomenergoproject (the general contractor of the project) Vladimir Generalov and the chief engineer of the Department for the Construction of Novovoronezh NPP Valery Khromykh. Lokshin expressed satisfaction with the course of the project. It should be noted that such on-site meetings between representatives of the Owner and the General Contractor of the project are conducted regularly – no less than once a month.

Special attention was given to the preventive repairs of units 3 and 5. Even though the repairs of unit 3 lasted longer than planned, Lokshin was satisfied with the work. “The main thing is to remove all deficiencies and to ensure safe and efficiency work before the coming autumn-winter period.”

Now that Rosenergoatom has approved a new personnel recruitment and training program, Lokshin and Tkebuchava were especially interested in the plant’s personnel management activities. They visited workplaces and spoke with employees and management trainees.

Novovoronezh NPP-2 is the first project under the federal program for the development of the nuclear power industry of Russia. It is a modern project, fully adjusted to the European and international safety standards. The new plant will serve for 50–60 years. The project is financed by the government: a total of 123bln RUR will be budgeted for the construction of the 1st and 2nd units of the plant.
