OREANDA-NEWS. August 24, 2007. The number of Ukio bankas internet banking users is rapidly growing – during the first seven months of 2007, 37,4 thousand of Ukio bankas clients were using Eta bankas, which shows a 54,4 percent increase compared to the same period last year, when the number of such users amounted to 24,2 thousand, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

The number of the internet banking users grew due to improvement of these services, reliability of the system, a rapidly increasing number of the Bank’s clients and a rising penetration of the internet not only in major cities but all over Lithuania.

“The number of Eta bankas users is growing every year and this shows an increasing popularity of Ukio bankas internet banking system, as a tool of finance management, among our clients. Increasing activity of Eta bankas users obligate us to focus on the development of internet products of the Bank. The plan is to offer yet more operations to be performed via the internet to our present and potential clients who are using Ukio bankas internet banking,” said Samanta Bagdzeviciute, head of Ukio bankas Internet Banking Unit.

By using the electronic banking system Eta bankas, Ukio bankas clients have the possibility to perform local and international money transfers, pay utility and other bills, place a time deposit, buy and sell currency, sign direct debit agreements, order payment cards and perform other operations. Clients using Eta bankas can pay for goods and services at e-shops in an easy and safe manner as well as identify themselves on the electronic systems of state authorities (State Tax Inspectorate, VI Centre of Registers, Vilnius City Municipality and others).

By using internet banking services clients save both time and money. The majority of fees for operations performed via Eta bankas are lower compared to those at the Bank’s branches or units.
