OREANDA-NEWS. December 4, 2007. For the Central factory laboratory of public corporation “Tulafermet” was purchased an atomic-emission spectrometer ARL 3460 produced by Swiss company Thermo Electron ARL, designed for the qualitative analysis of cast iron, steel, copper, etc. Its cost – more than 5 million roubles. This device differs from its predecessor (spectrometer “Polyvac” produced in Great Britain) in optics of higher resolution and stability, demonstrating maximum sensitiveness and minimum detection limits, and also secondary emission photocells, which allows reducing of the time of analysis. Besides, as notice specialists of Central factory laboratory of public corporation “Tulafermet”, an atomic-emission spectrometer ARL 3460 is economical, simple to operate and easy-to-use. Now balancing and commissioning is carried out on the new spectrometer. Towards the end of the year the device will be put in industrial operation. It is not the only purchase of equipment for Central factory laboratory of public corporation “Tulafermet” in 2007. So, gas analyzer “CS-600” of American firm “Leko”, which allowed with high accuracy to determine the content of carbon and sulphur in cast iron, cooling system “SOVA”, reducing the expenditure of drinking water and giving economic benefit in 120 thousands roubles per month, a photometer “KFK-3-01” with microprocessor, allowing to increase the accuracy of analyses of refractory materials, and also shaft furnace “SSO” for determination of coke hot hardness under conditions of parallelism of analyses are already used. The near-term plan – purchase of a handheld portable chromatograph for analysis of blast-furnace and natural gas.
