OREANDA-NEWS. December 19, 2007. On 14th of December 2007, at INO "Soyuzexpertiza" of CCI RF talks were held with an Iranian delegation, Soyuzexpertiza's press service reported.

The guest team included Deputy Minister M. Nazemi Ardakani, Director of Institute of Standards & Industrial Research of Iran ISIRI (analogue of our national Rostehregulirovanie), Dr. Mohsen Shaterzadeh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mines of Iran for International Economic Affairs, Vice-president of Iranian Chamber of Trade and Industry, Dr. Nima Tehrani, Head of Russian branch office of Industrial & Engineering Inspection of Iran ( IEI ) to be formally set up in Moscow shortly.

The Russian side was represented by A.M. Rybakov, Director of CCI RF Department, V.A. Golitsyn, General Director of INO "Soyuzexpertiza", V.V. Batogov, Director of SOEX-Quality Department, Y.G. Pokrovsky, Head of SOEX International Projects Group.
V.А. Golitsyn informed the guests of attention paid by CCI RF administration and personally by E.M. Primakov to the development of cooperation with Middle East countries, told of SOEX activity as a part of CCI RF structure, of cooperation prospects with Iran in the inspection field seen against the background of dynamic development of Russian-Iranian economic collaboration, of mutual activity opportunities in CIS countries. He mentioned about SOEX planned conference in 2008 for foreign inspection companies operating in the Russian market aimed at making their activities more uniformed through a better understanding of specifics of Russian legal domain and extended his invitation to IEI to take part in the event.  

А.М. Rybakov gave some historical examples of CCI RF inspection activity in the past, including those related to World War II period. Referring to impetus given lately to Russian-Iranian cooperation  in  fuel & energy area he told of SOEX participation in such major oil and gas projects as "Sakhalin-2", stressed the importance of acceleration in Russian-Iranian economic relations based on bilateral agreements, underlined necessity for SOEX and IEI to engage in effective cooperation.  

М. Nazemi Ardakani made a presentation of the Institute of Standards including development of Iranian national standards and monitoring their application, certification of Iranian enterprises and products, foreign inspection companies licensing in Iran which number totals at present 15 firms. He mentioned that SOEX license in Iran was still valid what may be employed to booster SOEX activity in this country. A positive resolution at the level of Iranian Interagency Committee, that Mr. Ardakani also chairs, on compliance of this or that product with requirements of an Iranian standard or our GOST would mean that such a product may not be delayed at the Iranian Customs but should go straight to an industrial site or to commercial market network. He stressed the importance of having such major items of Iranian export to Russia as dried fruits and construction materials certified for compliance with our GOST requirements.

Dr. M. Shaterzadeh drew the attention to opportunities of bilateral cooperation in Iranian mining industry, construction of electric power stations, in iron & steel and non-ferrous metallurgy, coal production, machine-building, power engineering, manufacture of tractors, milk products, plastics, construction materials and glass, auto spares supplies to Russia, economy class house-building in Russia by Iranian contractors, Iranian supplies of railcars and related parts, oil and gas production equipment. He specifically mentioned that in order to reach the target, set by the two country's leaders, of making bilateral trade turnover as high as 200 billion USD in 10 year period – both sides should intensively work together. He also described the situation in economic relations of Iran with other countries of the world.

The parties finally presented each other with reference materials of mutual interest.
