OREANDA-NEWS. On 22 May 2008 was announced, that the ITERA Day in the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M.Gubkin was held in a business-like and creative atmosphere.
 
A meeting of the delegation of the Company with the University teaching staff and students took place in the session hall of the Board of Academics. Victor Martynov, First Vice-Principal of the Russian State University (RSU), pointed out the importance of stronger cooperation between science and production and the continuous development of areas of cooperation with the Company.

Gennady Skidanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of ITERA Oil and Gas Company said that cooperation with the RSU was a successful and mutually beneficial one. He said that, "the developments by scientists of the University scientists are being applied at ITERA’s fields, and those postgraduates of the RSU joined the ranks of the Company’s specialists".

Students and professors who reached top results in learning, pedagogic, scientific and public activities were handed in certificates of ITERA stipends and grants.

Kirill Yezhov, a third year student of the Faculty of O&G Geology and Geophysics, for excellent learning performance and successful scholarly work was nominated to a special stipend named after Farman Kurbanovich Salmanov, hero of socialist labor, prizewinner of Lenin and Gubkin prizes. ITERA established the prize in commemoration of the legendary geologist and the pioneer discoverer of unique oil and gas fields. In his last years, he fruitfully worked for the Company. Tamara Vasilyevna Salmanova, the widow of Farman Kurbanovich, handed Certificate #1 of the special Stipend to K. Yezhov.

ITERA delegation with great interest familiarized itself with a Field Development Control Center, created within the framework of an innovative educational program of Education, a national project.
