OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2008. The automated radiation control system created by Rosatom will put an end to allegations about accidents at Russian NPPs, Vice Premier of Russia Sergey Ivanov told journalists during the 1st International Exhibition and Congress “ATOMCON 2008.”

To remind, the last such allegations about accidents at Leningrad and Volgodonsk NPPs were spread in May-June by email (SPAM).

Today, Ivanov and the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko visited the exhibition and the stand presenting the Automated Radiation Control System (ARCS).

Asked by a RIA Novosti correspondent if he was going to visit the ARCS web-site, Ivanov said: “Yes, I am planning to visit it today afternoon and to see what is going on at our nuclear power plants.”

Particularly, Ivanov was interested in the radiation background at Kalinin Nuclear Power Plant in Tver region.

“It is good that we have created such a system. I am sure that it will put an end to allegations and rumors about accidents at the Russian nuclear power plants,” Ivanov said.
