OREANDA-NEWS. On 25 July 2008 was announced, that Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is to run a luxury hotel set to open in the centre of Moscow in 2011.

The hotel called Mandarin Oriental Moscow is to be located in the very heart of business and cultural life of Moscow, on its main street – Tverskaya, surrounded by a lot of theatres and museums, in a five-minute walk from Red Square,” a joint press release by Mandarin Oriental and Yunikor said.

According to the press release, the hotel is to be included in the mixed-use complex Lyuks on 10 Tverskaya Street that will also contain a selling space with the area of more than 6,000 sq m, a spa and a fitness centre.

Mandarin Oriental Moscow will be one of the biggest hotels in the Russian capital by number of rooms that will be equal to 237, including 66 suits.

Besides, there will be several restaurants and bars, 2 ballrooms and underground parking in Mandarin Oriental Moscow.

“The hotel will be located in the landmark raised in the beginning of the 19th century as a private mansion. The building has undergone reconstruction and has been reinforced several times. The facade has been decorated. The famous Russian architects and artists have been involved in the creation of the unique interiors. The mansion was converted into the luxury hotel Lyuks in 1911,” the press release noted.
