OREANDA-NEWS. October 2, 2008. KAMAZ Inc. participated in the International Automobile Forum which opened in Moscow on 9 September.

This year trucks were not presented at the Moscow Automobile Show, that’s why KAMAZ prepared exhibits for the Forum more thoroughly than usual.

An insulated van 5759-0000010-11 with a hydraulic hightail lift was installed on KAMAZ-65115 (6x4) chassis of 15 tonnes total payload. The body with capacity of 32 cubic meters is plated with galvanized-steel on the inside and outside. Cellular polystyrene 50 mm thick is used as a heat insulator. The hydraulic hightail lift of the BZ 15-149 model with 1.5 tonnes payload and a platform measuring 2.5x2 meters is delivered by ZEPRO (the Sweden Company). Its hydroelectric drive is battery powered, with 160 ampere-hour minimal battery capacity.

KAMAZ–43085 (4х2) with a trailer-tandem 870600 of 28 tonnes GVW (GVW of the prime-mover is 15 tonnes) refers to the class of medium tonnage side prime-movers. It is equally applicable both for international operations and for servicing enterprises and organizations in population aggregates. The KAMAZ cab is equipped with a berth for the use of the combination in long hauls. The prime-mover is supplied with an engine Cummins ISBe 275 30 which is good on the Russian roads. Overall dimensions and front and back axle loads of the combination allow to use it in all Russian regions and worldwide without restriction. Supplied with a convenient handling system, the trailer can haul over 10 tonnes of cargo.

KAMAZ participated at MAF-2008 together with “Kamsky Plant “Transmash” – the company from Naberezhnye Chelny. The insulated van and the trailer for the vehicles introduced above are created by KAMAZ’s partner in joint development and production of special equipment for trucks.

“Transmash” also demonstrated a tandem-axle semitrailer of the model 8310 ТМ of 38.5 tonnes GVW with centrally located axles. It can haul freight of up to 31 tonnes. Load on the fifth wheel is 10.5 tonnes and on the axial aggregate of the semitrailer produced by BPW (Germany) is 24 tonnes. The useful life of the BPW ECO-Plus axles considerably exceeds 1 million km. The unlimited-mileage warranty on the BPW axle aggregates for Russia is 3 years.

It means that the semitrailer can be used as a part of the combination with a long-haul tractor KAMAZ-5460-022. This model of KAMAZ “haulers” was modernized. For example, the height of the saddle is reduced to 1150 mm, a more powerful Euro-3 engine of 400 h.p. is adapted, a hypoid axle which sharply reduces fuel consumption and external noise is included. The cab became more convenient due to a comfortable seat and air suspension. The warranty mileage increased as well.
