OREANDA-NEWS  On 15 October was announced, that during the last two years Factory named after N.K.Krupskaya had experienced significant growth in sales. As the result, there appeared a necessity of additional investments into new production capacities. In particular this relates to the lines on production of chocolate bars and Assorti type of sweets. Therefore within the framework of Krupskaya production optimization it is considered an investment into a new production line with capacity over 1,000 kilos/hour. Evaluative scope of investments may make up to 10 Million Euro.

"The growth of production capacity within our existing factory site is rather difficult, and first of all this is related to the way that the building is laid out – explains Philip Wegh, General Director of OJSC “Confectionary Factory named after N.K.Krupskaya”. - Moreover, there exist considerable limitations as to the freight transport movement in the center of the city, where the factory is located at present moment. This fact causes additional difficulties in organization of efficient logistics at the enterprise. Therefore we are considering relocation of the factory to a new site within the city limits of St.Petersburg.”

Management of the factory has addressed the Committee for Economic Development, Industrial policy and Trade of St.Petersburg with the request to find the potential sites for factory relocation in one of the city industrial zones. Nevertheless no final decision on factory relocation has been made yet."

No decision has been taken on what will happen to the existing factory site at Sotsialisticheskaya street 21. Most likely it may be converted from production to a mixed use office/retail type facility.
