OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2008. The free economic zone Gomel-Raton will present a project aimed at setting up the manufacture of ferrosilicomanganese (FeSiMn) at Belarus’ Investment Forum in London.

On reaching its designed capacity, the company will produce 36,000 tonnes of ferrosilicomanganese, 26,500 tonnes of road metal. The total cost of the project is EUR 17.1 million. The project implementation term is six years; the repayment term is almost six years too.

The new production makes economic sense. There is no FeSiMn manufactures in Belarus while the demand in the country has been continuously increasing. The product is import-substituting and will be in demand in the domestic and foreign markets. The main consumers of ferrosilicomanganese are steel mills. Therefore the major consumer in Belarus can be the Belarusian Steel Works.

To implement the project a company will be set up and registered as a resident company of the free economic zone Gomel-Raton.

Gomel-Raton will also present the projects to create a trade and logistics centre and the manufacture of large-sized zinc-plated metalware.

Belarus’ Investment Forum will be held in London on November 16-19 this year.
