OREANDA-NEWS  On 12 November was announced, that trouble-free electricity is supplied only to the club, school, first-aid post and shop. But the apartment houses of the Novostroika settlement of the Cheremhovo region are supplied with light only six hours a day.

Oleg Kuznetsov puts this power station in operation only in case of urgency that is washing and visitors coming. Its operation needs gasoline. One hour of operation takes more than a litre. It is "luxury" for a family. In order to obtain fuel, one needs to go to the regional center which is located at a distance of 100 kilometers. All the rest of the day the houses are not lightened. As well as the whole settlement.

"We have not the opportunity to read, to watch TV, like it was in old time", Vera Kuznetsova, the inhabitant of Novostroika settlement, said.

Light is given to houses only on holidays. This situation has been observed for 20 years. The youth leaves the village. The population of Novostroika does not exceed a thousand people. They are basically pensioners.

This diesel power station gives out the current for six hours a day. To support this need, around 19 tons of diesel fuel is needed every month.

This source supplies electricity constantly only to the club, school, first-aid post and shops. Two years ago, construction of the first stage of electric main Golumet - Novostroika started near the settlement. For today, 147 supports out of 200 necessary supports were installed.

Maxim Startsev, the Director of the "Central Electric Networks" branch of "Irkutsk Grid Company said that in 2009 it is planned to mount a wire at the line constructed by the company - 35 kilovolt - and to set up the substation in the Novostroika settlement.

Around 400 million rubles will be required for the settlement electrification. According to the plan, the works will be finished by 2010.
