OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2008. Projects of Russian Federal Nuclear Center-All-Russian Research Institute of Experimental Physics (RFNC-VNIIEF) have won two gold medals at the 57th World Exhibition on Innovation Research and New Technologies “Brussels-Innova / Eureka 2008.”

The first medal was granted for developing a new a method for corrosion protection of constructional elements of chemical facilities: Providing corrosion protection of chemical facilities by coverings from nickel (liquid melts of alkali metals) and titanium (hydrogen degradation) using a technology of precision welding by dynamic impact on materials.

The second medal was granted for the device with the biological feedback for a manual motility development: It is intended for rehabilitation of patients with defeats of the central nervous system, orthorehabilitation, and also psychologo-pedagogical rehabilitation and correction. At restoration of movement and coordination of the upper extremities the device allows leading a complex of procedures in which the information about the state of these or those physiological processes is supplies to a person through a circuit of external feedback. The patient studies "consciously" to operate them. In a real-time mode following problems are solved: — estimation the functional condition of neuromuscular apparatus; — supervising the process of rehabilitation; — leading the conductive kinesiotherapy for cerebral spastic infantile paralysis treatment.

The projects have also been granted certificates of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property, Patents and Trademarks (Rospatent).
