OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 April 2009 was announced, that Ingosstrakh had paid more than RUR 4.4 mln to LLC MVS (Kursk Region) in compensation for the loss of a beet harvester destroyed by fire.

The vehicle was insured in December 2008 along with a number of other agricultural vehicles by the branch of IJSC Ingosstrakh in Kursk. The insurance covered 3 HOLMER TERRA DOS beet harvesters. The insurance covered such risks as natural calamities, man-made explosions, improper activities of third parties, break-in and robbery, fall of a flying object and parts thereof, damage by water, fire, thunderbolt, and gas explosion. The total insured amount was around RUR 23.8mln.

The event that triggered the insurance compensation was the fire which broke out near the settlement of Sukhinovka, Glushkovsky District, Kursk Region, in October 2008 and resulted in full loss of one of the insured beet harvesters. In order to determine the scale of damages, the insurance company arranged for an expertise which discovered that the vehicle took fire because of a short circuit in the wiring, and determined that the vehicle was beyond repair. The event was acknowledged as subject to insurance compensation, which was subsequently paid out by Ingosstrakh.

The beneficiary under the insurance contract is Sberbank of Russia (OAO) since the vehicles were insured as part of the mortgage insurance arrangements.

The branch of IJSC Ingosstrakh in Kursk and LLC MVS have been partners since 2006. Their partnership has resulted in a number of livestock, equipment, vehicle and trailer insurance contracts.
