OREANDA-NEWS. On 30 April 2009 was announced, that a meeting devoted to the Economic Forum, which will be hosted in St. Petersburg at "Lenexpo" Exhibition Complex on June 4-6, 2009, was conducted on April 25 in "Lenexpo".

Elvira Nabiullina head of Ministry of economic development and trade ran the meeting, which was also attended by Valentina Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg, members of St. Petersburg Government and representatives of Forum organizing committee.

St. Petersburg Economic Forum of 2009 will be devoted to the up-today questions about the present situation in the world development. A current economic crisis confirms the fact that it is essential to abandon all standard approaches and collectively find some fresh non-trivial solutions.

Forum participants will discuss the future visions for the International Financial Institutions, banking development perspectives, the level of effectiveness for measures taking by the State governments and other important topics.

A lot of attention will be paid to the impact of Russia. Forum will be attended by the representatives of political and business world elite, leading world economists and experts.

The World Grain Forum 2009 will also coincide with the World Economic Forum and will be hosted at "Lenexpo" on June 6-7, 2009.

The main discussion topics for this event are reasons of food crises, its consequences and ways of dealing with them, macroeconomic factors of world economic development, grain and food prices forecast, national programs of agricultural support and stimulus for home demand, humanitarian programs and their role for the world agricultural and food system, innovations and biotechnologies for the grain production; working mechanisms of the World Reserve Grain Fund, infrastructural risks for the world grain trade.
