OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2009. The launching ceremony took place on May 14 2009. The 28-km pipeline is supposed to supply Zheleznogorsk with heat. The main facilities of Zheleznogorsk TPP are supposed to be ready in Sept 2009, Director of Atomstroy Artyom Butov said after the ceremony.

The start-up stage will be completed in Mar 2010 with the commissioning scheduled for May-June 2010. the 1st and 2nd launching complexes of Zheleznogorsk TPP will be launched in 2010–2011. Experts say that the capacity of the plant will be enough for covering the city’s needs.

The block valves of the heating pipeline have already been installed. Presently, the constructors are building the booster station and 5,000 c m storage tanks.

“This is just the beginning of the start-up stage. The installation of the indoor switchgear, 40MVA transformers and other auxiliary equipment will be completed July 10 2009.  In early June we will start the thermal insulation of the 1st and 2nd boilers,” Butov said.

According to the contract, the American party is supposed to allocate USD443mln for the completion of the construction of Zheleznogorsk TPP. As of today the Russian party has invested almost 120mln RUR in the project with USD275mln received from the American party.

“In 2009–2010 Zheleznogorsk will be heated according to the scenario of 2008–2009 and there is no ground for concern,” says the representative of the governor of Krasnoyarsk region to Zheleznogorsk closed administrative territorial district Vadim Medvedev.
 
As was reported earlier ADE-2 reactor will be stopped May 31 2009 and will stand by throughout 2009–2010.

This decision is part of the policy to ensure stable heat and water supply of Zheleznogorsk.
