OREANDA-NEWS. On 27 August 2009 was announced, that Electricity Transmission System Operators (TSOs) of the Baltic States – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have reached a common decision on a joint delegation of the countries in a unified European TSO organization ENTSO-E and propose a candidate to its board member on behalf of the Baltic States – Mr. Aloyzas Koryzna, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Lietuvos Energija AB.  A decision regarding Mr. A. Koryzna’s approval for ENTSO-E Board Member in the General Assembly of ENTSO-E is to be reached on September 23, this year.

“This is a highly important step while Lietuvos Energija concentrates on projects, related to the national power system’s integration into West Europe, its security and strengthening of independence", - said Mr. A. Koryzna.

The key strategic projects of the Lithuanian power system – integration into West European power system, Lithuania-Sweden and Lithuania-Poland power link projects and reinforcement of the domestic power grids while creating the Baltic energy ring. To mention but a few – projects on construction of 330 kV Klaipeda-Telsiai overhead line and expansion of Klaipeda transformer substation, interconnection of 330 kV overhead lines Jurbarkas-Sovetsk and Klaipeda-Sovetsk through construction of a switchyard in Bitenai.
