OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2009. Belarus’ imports of hard drinks and grape wines increased in the first eight months of 2009 year-on-year, according to preliminary statistics of the State Customs Committee.

Imports of hard drinks increased 45.9% on the year in January-August to 319,011 decaliters worth USD 18.97 million, up 59.9%.

Imports from Georgia were at 107,726 decaliters, up 57.9%, worth USD 5.418 million, up 130%, from Ukraine at 73,690 decaliters, up 110%, worth USD 3.127 million, up 79.2%, from Moldova at 47,865 decaliters, down 45.8%, worth USD 2.699 million, down 30.2%, from France at 38,814 decaliters, up 16.8 times, worth USD 2.25 million, up 4.2 times, Armenia at 17,215 decaliters, up 140%, worth USD 1.841 million, up 130%.

Imports of grape wines, including fortified wines increased 5.1% on the year in the period to 2.917 million decaliters worth USD 37.191 million, up 20.9%.

Wine imports from Moldova amounted to 2.499 million decaliters, down 0.2% in terms of decaliters, to the amount of USD 27.338 million, up 9.6% in monetary terms. Imports from Ukraine went up 77.3% to 125,629 decaliters, worth USD 1.214, up 63.9%.

Wine imports from Chile went up 240% to 48,033 decaliters, from Spain rose 59.6% to 43,003 decaliters, from France fell 4.3% to 32,259 decaliters, and from Italy increased 37.2% to 26,992 decaliters.
