OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2009. Belarus’ beer output decreased 6.3% on the year in January-September 2009 to 26.63 million decaliters, a representative in the concern Belgospischeprom told.

OAO Krinitsa, based in Minsk, increased beer production 8.3% to 11.176 million decaliters. OAO Olivaria, based in the city of Minsk, produced 4.991 million decaliters of beer in the first eight months, a decrease of 2.6% on the year.

Syabar brewery, based in Bobruisk, in the Mogilev Region, produced 3.123 million decaliters of beer in the period, down 23.5% on the year. OAO Lidskoe Pivo (Lida Beer), in the Grodno Region, increased beer output 3% to 3.824 million decaliters. OAO Brest Beer produced 2.067 million decaliters of beer, down 12%. OAO Rechitsapivo, located in the Gomel Region, produced 797,000 decaliters of beer in the period, down 64.3%.

Beer offering in plastic bottles went down 5.3% to 20.302 million decaliters, in glass bottles fell 16.8% to 4.464 million decaliters, in kegs increased 11.7% to 1.485 million decaliters and in cans rose 38.3% to 379,000 decaliters. Belarusian beer sales decreased 10.1% on the year in January-September to 24.488 million decaliters.

Krinitsa sales edged down 0.8% to 10.007 million decaliters, Olivaria sales went up 0.6% to 4.971 million decaliters, Lidskoe pivo sales went up 2.3% to 3.496 million decaliters, while sales of Brest Beer fell 13.6%, of Syabar decreased 22.3% and of Rechitspivo dropped 66.2%.
