OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2009. On 12 November, BIGBANK AS and the Association of Estonian Dog Owners handed over the profits of the BIG Match Show to the Valga and Viljandi shelters for homeless animals. The shelters shall use the funds for improving the living conditions of the animals.

The BIG Match Show, which took place on 11 October in Tallinn, raised 40,000 Estonian kroons for the support of the Valga and Viljandi animals shelters. The funds were divided equally between the two shelters. Enno Kase, the Vice Mayor of Valga, and Kalle Jents, the Mayor of Viljandi, also took part in handing the support funds over. In previous years the BIG Match Show has donated its profits to the Parnu, Tartu, Voru and Haapsalu shelters for homeless animals.

This year's BIG Match Show was visited by almost 1000 people and 204 dogs took place in the show, of whom the title of the general winner was given to a mixed-bred dog named Jasper who belongs to Maria Tengi. Both pure-bred and mixed-bred dogs took part in the show and competed according to age and size - puppies, adults and seniors of above or below knee height.

The BIG Match Show, which took place already for the fifth time this year(and therefore celebrated a small jubilee), is the largest annual charity dog show in Estonia, the aim of which is to draw attention to the issue of homeless animals and the possibilities of solving this problem, and to support the shelters for homeless animals. The event is organised by BIGBANK AS in cooperation with the Association of Estonian Dog Owners.
