OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2009. OJSC Enel OGK-5 power plants received the necessary permits to be put in operation in the autumn – winter period as a result of the full checks run by the State Commission.

The Company’s power plants were prepared to be in operation in the autumn-winter period pursuant to the Order of the Ministry of Energy of Russian Federation “On top-priority activities related to the preparation of electricity and heat supply companies to be in operation during 2009-2010 autumn-winter period.” 

The awarding of the permits confirms the high level of the Company’s criteria for entering into operation in 2009-2010 autumn – winter period: availability of regulated fuel reserves, implementation of planned equipment maintenance, fulfillment of health and fire safety regulations, completeness of headcount.   

OJSC Enel OGK-5 has already executed maintenance works on 26 power units: 4 power units (1280 MW) have passed the overhaul maintenance, 5 power units (1720 MW) – mid-life maintenance, and 17 power units are still under maintenance works. Besides, the mid-life maintenance works have been performed on 3 boilers (900 t/h) and 1 turbine (100 MW).

As of November 1st, 2009 fuel reserves of Enel OGK-5 power plants are 18 % higher than the amount envisaged in Minenergo regulations. 

Pursuant to the order of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation the composition of the Commission aimed at assessing the Company’s power plants availability included the representatives of OJSC Enel OGK-5, Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision (Rostekhnadzor), OJSC System Operator of Unified Energy System.
