OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2009. The delegation of JSC "Zarubezhneft" headed by the General Director N.G.Brunich took part in the ceremonial opening of the memorial complex "Cam Ranh" in Vietnam.

The complex was built at the initiative of JV "Vietsovpetro" and the representative office of JSC "Zarubezhneft" in Vung Tau in memory of Soviet, Russian, Vietnamese military personnel and civil experts who died in the performance of duty in SRV.

From the Russian side the Chairman of the Audit Chamber of the RF S.V. Stepashin, Charge d’affaires of the RF in Vietnam I.A. Hovaev, General Council in Ho Chi Minh City N.D. Ubushiev, representatives of veterans organization and Russian-Vietnamese friendship societies, First deputy general director of JV "Vietsovpetro" M.A. Sobolev, enterprise experts, military veterans who did military service in SRV, particularly in the former Soviet military base Cam Ranh took part in the ceremonial opening of the memorial.

From the Vietnamese side representatives of the party, government authorities, Ministry of Defense, public organizations and enterprises, managers and experts of OGC "Petrovietnam" took part in the ceremony.

During short speeches a lot of sincere, warm words were said about the Russian-Vietnamese friendship and cooperation of the two countries, including military and technical cooperation and about the history of development of our relationships.

Addressing the guests S.V. Stepashin in particular noted that nowadays only few countries in the world can be proud of such friendship. And the opening of the monument "Cam Ranh" is a vivid confirmation of its inviolability.

The General Director of JSC "Zarubezhneft"N.G.Brunich in his speech thanked the team of JV "Vietsovpetro" for the big organizational work on the memorial complex construction and expressed hope that the existing relationships between people of our countries will henceforth strengthen and develop.

N.G.Brunich took part in the ceremonial cutting of the symbolic ribbon at the foot of 21 meter high monument and together with other representatives of Russia laid wreaths in respect to those who died for the piece and stability of Vietnam.
