OREANDA-NEWS. March 25, 2010. In inter-navigational period 2009-2010 Volga Shipping Company carried out an expanded program of cargo fleet repair. According to the press-service of the shipping company, in connection with new requirements for hull structures and mechanisms, implemented by Russian River Register, the total amount of company ship repair has grown considerably, compared to last year.

The average repair, in accordance with the requirements of Russia River Register, is conducted at 22 of 71 motor ships of type Volga-Don - the main cargo shipping vessels, which will operate in the navigation of 2010.

The average repair is required at 16 motor ships owned by fleet of Volga Shipping and at 6 motor ships, obtained under a bareboat charter from the North-Western Shipping.

Shipyard Borremflot (Nizhny Novgorod region) remains to be the basic repair facility for cargo vessels, where 9 motor ships are at the slipway, as well as the Voznesenskay repair and operational base (Leningrad region), where 5ships are under maintenance

The average repair of other ships of the type "Volga-Don" is held in the Volga repair and maintenance base (Volgograd region), at the plant "Memory of the Paris Commune" (Nizhny Novgorod Region), in Navashino at Okskaya Shipyard (Nizhniy Novgorod region), the ship repair plant in Aksai ( Rostov Region).

Routine maintenance of mechanisms of other dry cargo vessels is carried by the crews.
