OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2010. The Customs Union member-states are working on the concept of the agreements that will form the foundation of the common economic area, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov said during his meeting with President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus.

The first package of documents consisting of 14 agreements on the Customs Union’s common economic area will be presented at a meeting of the prime ministers in Moscow on May 21, 2010, Shuvalov said.

According to Shuvalov, the three presidents set themselves an ambitious task to form the common economic area by January 1, 2012, whereas the European Union had taken decades.
