OREANDA-NEWS. May 7, 2010. On 26-28 April Kiev hosted the annual Europe-Ukraine Forum, attended by around 400 political leaders, businessmen, non-profit and international organizations, academic communities and media from Ukraine, Russia, Europe and CIS countries.

The key subject of the Forum was to feature political and economic changes in Ukraine and their impact on the integration process of Ukraine in Europe. In particular, the participants discussed bilateral relations between the EU and Ukraine as well as outlooks of economic cooperation between CEE countries.

SCM was represented at the Forum by Director of International and Investor Relations Jock Mendoza-Wilson, who moderated the round table on Reforms and Transformations: Challenges forUkraine. Mr Mendoza-Wilson thus commented on the event: "Europe-Ukraine Forum is of great importance for the development of relations between Ukraine and EU countries. Furthermore, the Forum is held for the fourth time, which proves that both Ukraine and the EU countries are interested in cooperation. Being the biggest business group in eastern Europe and the biggest national investor, SCM contributes to integration of the Ukrainian business into the economic area of united Europe. We believe that clear and transparent relations between Ukraine and the EU are essential to ensure the future economic development of Ukraine and enhance its standards of living".
