RTS Announced Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2010. Over the week of June 15 – June 18, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 3.88% to reach 1,409.43 points (1,356.79 points as of June 11, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (plus 23.39 points) followed by ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (plus 8.49 points) and ordinary shares of JSC "RusHydro" (HYDRS) (plus 4.3 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 2.27% to reach 9,411.28 points (9,202.08 points as of June 11, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 1.52% closing at 1,673.18 points (1,648.16 points as of June 11, 2010). Last week most of the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the power sector, with the RTS Electric Utilities Index adding 7.23%. A significant increase was also shown by the financial sector, with the RTS Finances Index going up by 4.72%. The RTS Industrial Index remained at the same level. The regional index, RTS Siberia Index, lost 4.09%.

Last week the US dollar depreciated by 1.2% against the ruble to reach 31.19 rubles per US dollar (31.57 rubles as of June 11, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of June 15 – June 18, 2010 equaled USD9.8 billion (307.2 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,845.7 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD726.13 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD506.1 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD208.14 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 38.27%, 26.67% and 10.97% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of JSC "WGC-3" (OGKC) that went up by 20.00% to USD0.06 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "TGC-1" (TGKA) – by 16.98% to USD0.00062 and ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBER) – by 12.94% to reach USD2.575.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSN) that fell 2.91% to reach USD6.68 followed by preferred shares of JSOC Bashneft (BANEP) that lost 1.05% to reach USD23.50 and ordinary shares of JSC "OGK-4" (OGKD) that shed 0.99% to reach USD0.079.
