OREANDA-NEWS. June 25, 2010. EuroChem Company has launched the latest in a series of investment projects at Nevinnomysskiy Azot, its facility in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Territory. A filtration system for circulating water will be set up in shop No.5, which produces weak nitric acid. The installation of high-efficiency filters will improve the performance of the heat transfer equipment in the absorption node, thus reducing the cost of restoring and replacing the existing heat transfer equipment, improving its efficiency, reliability and operational safety and reducing its impact on the environment.

The existing equipment in shop No.5 for the production of weak nitric acid consists of eight UKL-7 units. During the operation of the units, the heat transfer pipes of the absorption column and the cooler-condenser gradually become clogged with sediments and elements of the supply ditch coming from the water circulation cycle. This leads to a decrease in the consumption of recycled water, deterioration of the heat transfer of the absorption node, as well as intensive corrosion and failure of the heat transfer pipes of the cooler-condensers.

Filters for purifying recycled water will be installed on all eight of the shop’s units. The work is expected to be completed in 2011. The total cost of the project is 13.53 million rubles.
