OREANDA-NEWS. August 11, 2010. “Komienergo” branch of IDGC of North-West is implementing the construction project of 20 kv overhead and cable line from 110/10 kv substation “Sinegorie” to rural settlement Ust’-Tsil’ma in Ust‘-Tsilemsky region of the Komi Republic.

The project includes the construction of almost 9 km of 20 kv overhead line at the left bank of Pechora, reconstruction of  6 km of 10/20 kv line at the right bank and  20 kv field cable installation across the river’s bottom.

A special cable of Nexans production which is penetrated at a depth of 1,5 meters is applied for the underwater laying. The cable laying is made by the unique equipment in form of a plough with a simultaneous cable pulling across the river’s bottom. The cable is laid in subsoil at a guaranteed depth. It excludes its washout and damages in course of a further operation. The area laying length of the cable made by a trench method amounts to almost  1,6 km. The cable outlets to the right and left banks will be made by method of “pricking” by 100 meters from each bank. The cable line’s total length will amount to 2 km.

The works by cable laying across the river’s bottom have been successfully completed. Approximately 100 wooden poles gave been gathered and installed in the route. Totally they plan to install about 340 poles at the overhead line’s areas. The introduction of all the facility into service is planned for the beginning of the autumn and winter period of 2010 – 2011.

We remind that the problem the passage construction’s reliability over the Pechora river in Ust’- Tsilemsky region appeared at the end of 2008. The big quantity of precipitations has resulted in the soil slip growth near the crossing pole. The stability of the passage’s construction and alongside with it electric power supply of almost 6 thousand dwellers of Ust’- Tsilemsky region were endangered. Within this time “Komienergo” made big volumes of work on the pole preservation and developed the establishment project of the region’s reserve scheme of electric power supply.
