August 25, 2010.  For active participation in preparing and holding the events dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, CEO of OJSC N.W.Telecom Vladimir Alexandrovich Akulich has been awarded with the Certificate of Honour of the President of the Russian Federation.

On the eve of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War under the supervision of V. A. Akulich, OJSC North-West Telecom fully satisfied all applications for telephone installation received from veterans and the disabled of the Great Patriotic War. All in all , starting from 1st January till 1st May 2010, OJSC N.W.Telecom’s telephone communication lines were installed for 268 subscribers of the category in the Northwest, and now the number of installed telephone sets exceeds 500. During 2010 the Company will continue to install free of charge telephone communication lines for veterans and the disabled of the Great Patriotic War ( N.W. Telecom Has Provided Telephone Communication to Those who Participated and were Disabled in   the Great Patriotic War ).  

To organize the festivities dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, OJSC N.W.Telecom provided the Administration s of the entities of the Russian Federation in the Northwestern Federal District with communication and information facilities and other technical facilities, organized the broadcasting of the All-Russian event on 9th May and held a series of events where war veterans, workers on the home front and retired veterans of the telecommunication industry were honoured ( see the section "Dedicated to the 65th Anniversary of the Great Victory" ).

According to the tradition, on 7th, 8th and 9th May 2010 OJSC N.W.Telecom made it possible for all veterans and the disabled of the Great Patriotic War to use free of charge service s of intraareal telephone communication and to send telegrams within the Russian Federation. Besides, all subscribers of the Company could give a phone call or to send a telegram with a 25% discount during the pre-celebration period (see Press Release of 29.04.10 ).

Akulich has noted more than once that North-West Telecom is aware of its social responsibility to the generation of the veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War and consider s the provision of communication service s to them as its civic duty and honorary obligation. “Our Company is creating all conditions for the veterans to feel our care and to be able to communicate with their children, grandchildren and brother-soldiers. For this purpose, we provide telecommunication service s to them, provide telephone communication to new apartments that participants and the disabled of the Great Patriotic War receive according to the Decree of the RF President.”
